Best Security App

What sort of thing are you looking for? Find my iPad is an Apple app to allow you to locate your iPad if it gets lost / stolen, play a sound and write a message on the screen (e.g. please call this telephone number), place a passcode on to the iPad so people can't access it if you've left it somewhere public and finally wipe the iPad remotely if you think you're not likely to get it back - at least that protects your personal data.

There won't be another equivalent app which does all of this (I don't think) as I'd imagine only Apple could legally write such an app, and I don't think they'd allow any other publishers to put something similar on the App store.

Well just that, I just wondered if there was anything better than that out there as the reviews since update have been poor

Well, a quick search yields this - it doesn't do everything Find my iPad does, but it does allow tracing. No idea if it's any good. What sorts of issues are being reported for Find my iPad?

Since the update, the blue dot has been consistantly wrong  by about 50 meters or so.  Thats on an iPhone 4 with iOS6.

Rumour has it that if you reinstall the app it works fine again.

Not for me unfortunately.  One dot is my laptop (which is bang on), the other dot is my phone (which is 30cm away from my laptop).

Strange - just checked and it's working okay for me (locates iPhone 4S and Macbook in the same place).

Thats odd Paul,am at home today and all 3 of mine are showing up in same location too.

Working fine here too.
