I was half expecting this to happen. Somehow, most of the popular phones are involved in similar incidents shortly after launch:

These things (when not hoaxes) usually involve either drop damage rupturing the lithium cell, or knockoff chargers or batteries. Of course, the press are less keen to print a retraction...
