Just got this information from my brother-in-law who is an official Google tester. He's ordering one for my wife.
Keep a close eye on the UK site, they should start accepting orders soon....

Those who missed out/had the Nexus on back order are now getting dispatch emails, so it seems there's stock in the UK again (at least to fulfill back orders) so hopefully play will have stock again soon. Google have also released 4.2.1 (calender fix) too
The site is overloaded & keeps giving errors!
He's still trying...
No luck yet. Thankfully, it seems that they have enough stock. This is the message on their website:
Google Play is currently experiencing very high traffic. Nexus 4 is not sold out and will still be available for purchase. Please try again shortly. Thank you for your patience.
£240 for 16GB one!

Yes. He's currently in UK, but managed to order through US Google Play site through proxy servers. His fiancée is coming over in December, & will bring the phone with her.
No such proxy access for me - guess I'll have to see what luck when they release the next batch of 20 to the UK...
Nice one bigboss and cheaper than the UK price too!
Any ideas if the UK will get any before xmas?? I'm with scene on this...if we do get stock it will be strictly limited to under 100 handsets and the site will be overloaded again, I'm still going to try to get one though but I rate my chances of getting one before xmas as very slim indeed. Been looking for alternative for weeks now but the Nexus 4 specs are impossible to beat at that price unless you go along the contract route.
Samsung UE55F8000 (THX Pro calibrated), Yamaha RX-A2020, Dali Zensor 5 7.1 (front presence config), Panasonic DMP-BDT500MR, WD TV Live, Marantz CD6003, Marantz PM6004, Beresford TC-7220 MKII, PS3, Xbox 360, QED Silver Anniversary XT speaker cable, Wireworld Chroma 7 HDMIs, Chord Crimson Sub and RCA, Chord Superscreen Mains Cable
I think this time there was enough stock in the US. UK shouldn't be any different. They should start selling within a week or two, hopefully.
Is there a 32GB version of this?
Can you expand the memory?
Does it have a removable battery?
I have seen some comparison sites offering this on contracts but not many. I take it the handset is not widely available yet? At the price it is I am thinking of buying one outright and opting for a SIM only deal.
No. Not yet.
I don't think so, but I may be wrong. Haven't checked.

It's far cheaper to buy the phone & go for a SIM only deal. The network providers are taking the mick with the costs.

Not yet. It was sold out within 30 minutes on Google Play store. Out of stock at the moment, but sales should start again shortly.

Most of the contracts were the same price as those for the HTC One X and Samsung SIII which I thought odd given the phone is about half the price of those two handsets.
A pity you can't expand the memory.
What do you do if the phone freezes? My current HTC Desire is getting on a bit now and it will freeze but it's easy to take the battery out and switch on again. Freezing shouldn't be a problem initially for the phone but once you've had it 18 months it may be. The fact you can't take out the battery is the one factor putting me against getting a One X (plus you can't expand memory) and swaying me to a SIII. I've been hmming and haaing that long now it'll nearly be time for new phones to come out.
I'm prepared to be patient till early next year then my GiffGaff sim will have a new home
Squeezebox Touch > Beresford Bushmaster DAC > CA Azur 650A > Dynaudio DM 2/7's
Synology DS210j NAS running Logitech Media Server
it's because Google are selling at, or near cost, same as the Nexus 7. It's £399 PAYG from the likes of CPW (they do actually have stock though)
Supply and Demand economics coming into play as well.
If it was £340-50 I might be tempted - would just need to hope Mrs. Scene assumed I got it for £279 and never checked the CPW website.
