Galaxy S2 on my LG HD TV?

I've just upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy S2. I'm blown away by what it can do but there's one thing I was told it can do that I'm struggling with.
I was told I could connect the phone to my LG50PS8000 plasma using the USB port and play, for example, the BBC iPlayer.
I've tried this but can't get anything up on the TV.
Anyone got an idiot's step-by-step please?!

I have never heard of that ability. You can buy a Samsung Galaxy S2 hdmi adapter and plug it in to HDMI whilst using the USB port to power the connection.
You may be able to go into the SGS2s settings and change the USB connection mode to mass storage. This would allow you to play files straight from the storage on the device.
However I highly doubt USB out to HDMI exists on either the S2 or the LG.
