File Manager and copying / moving files

Hi

I have Astro File Manager installed on my Desire and have been trying unsuccesfully to copy and move files. There is a 'copy' function but when I navigate to a different folder, the 'paste' function doesn't appear to work. I expect I'm missing something obvious, so can anyone tell me what it is?

Thanks in advance

Press and hold the file u wish to copy until the 'File Options' menu appears. Then select edit -> copy.

Then press and hold the destination directory until the 'File Options' menu appears. Then select edit -> paste.

Hi - thanks, but it doesn't do that on mine. If I press and hold the (mp3) file I want to move, I get the options 'Details/Open As/Edit/Send/Music Options'

There is a menu bar at the top of the screen, but copy doesn't appear to work in the way I'd expect.

Hi AnotherJoe

yes, that seems to work, but when I navigate to the folder I want to drop it into, 'paste' is greyed out.

I must be missing something here!

Do u have permissions to copy to the target directory?

For example if I try to copy something to the .android_secure directory then paste is greyed out.

You could try another good file explorer such as 'ES File Explorer' and see if has same problem.

I'll try another file explorer and report back if I still have problems.

Thanks for the help.
