Reading through previous posts on this thread I suspect that people have forgotten about the best value 7 inch tablet on the market ... The Blackberry Playbook ... £129 for 64GB including a free £10 gift voucher from PC World. Hardware spec is very good inc. front and rear 1080p cameras, HDMI out, GPS. If you are not tied into an app ecosystem and just need the main social apps, a browser, an email client, media player, and native FLASH support give the Playbook a look. The OS will be updated to the next gen BB10 and it can already run Android apps increasing the possible app selection.
Just bought the Nexus 7 and very happy with it. The BlackBerry seems to suffer from some limitations and while the space is attractive, especially at the price, I'm not convinced by RIM's inconsistencies in recent years. Happier with Google's likely better support for its baby too long term. With cloud connectivity the way to go, the 32gb Nexus 7 offers a happy medium between the two.
