wall or stand mounting

I have a Sony 32 inch bravia, and was wondering about differences in picture quality that might occur with wall mounting opposed to a rack, the one i had in mind being the Soundstyle XS AV, to match my hifi rack. And if I was to go for wall mounting, how can I go about hiding/ disguising cables without burying them in my freshly plastered and decorated walls?
I don't think it'll make any difference to the picture quality whether it's on a stand or a rack.
As for the cables, your only option now seems to be some surface-mount trunking like this to carry the cables. Won't be as elegant as cutting the cables into the wall, but will be better than having them hanging loose.
