Speaker Stands For Monitor BR2s
I'm obviously completely incapable of independant decision making, so does anyone have any ideas? I'm considering Soundstyle Z-2's, and Partington Trophy's, but they are substantially more expensive. So any other suggestions gratefullly received.
the Z 2 are the stands i use with the br2 and they sound great, dont forget a littke blue tak under each corner of the speakers so they dont get knocked of by the little ones or even the wife,
thanks! Luckily there are no kids and no wife to worry about, but i must admit stability is an issue that worries me anyway, as the part the speaker sits on (sorry, "top plate") is often smaller than the spaeker, isnt it?
The Soundstyle Z2s would be fine for the Monitor Audios.
Our Buyer's Guide gives you all the dimensions for the speakers and stands we've tested - in this case the Z2s are 23cm wide by 31cm deep, while the BR2s are 19cm wide and 25cm deep.
Don't forget the Blu-tack, as mentioned, and you'll be set.
Ah. Had'nt noticed that. I'll engage my eyes in future! Many thanks Clare.
Actually, I've just checked speaker stands on Amazon, and i dont think the dimensions it gives for them are the same. I know tyhis is asking a lot, but if anyone could check and put me right, thatd be great...?
trust me br2s will fit Z2s nicely they look grate in me room. the speakers overhang a tad either side and abt 6/7 mm back and front

I wouldn't go that far.... Because if the speakers do indeed overlap, those figures in the BG sound out. I'll get Chris Gilson, our new Buyer's Guide editor, onto it on Monday.
Thankyou both. What it actually says for the top plate is 165mm x 225mm. It is possible that im having an extreme blonde moment - figures have never been my forte!
just on the off chance that you see this claire, do you rekon its ok to go ahead with them...?
anyone know if the soundstyle stands come with a sand fill-able cavity, or anywhere to hide leads? Its just, nowhere that ive looked at them online mentions either.
Just to throw a spanner in the works
I have my BR2s on a pair of Atacama SE6s with blu-tac! and they do the job fine.
There is a hollow main tube, into which you can pour whatever you like, which is securely covered when you attach the top-plate. There is, approximately, a 2cm/0.75inch (sides) and 4cm/1.25inch (front/rear) overlap of the top-plate by your speakers (if positioned centrally that is!). However, there is no-where to hide your speaker cables within the stands themselves.
Hope this helps.
many thanks for the suggestion but theres no spanner as theyre not really to my tastes. im looking at some on the stand and deliver site too, tho theyre a bit pricey. but very nice.
