Interconnects touching
Hi all
i was cleaning round the back of my system the other day and noticed that the gold plugs on my interconnects are touching each other, both at the amp and the CD player. Could this affect the sound? or are they insulated? They are Atlas Equator MKII's and the plugs fit quite snug together so I can't avoid them touching.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Are the gold plugs plastic? If metal I would insulation tape. I guess this is unusual. As Chebby said tho.
If you mean the main body of the plug then it doesn't matter, they are shorted on the phono socket internally anyway.
It doesn't matter if they do touch, the outers of the two sockets are electrically common.
Snap! Don't I look daft now
Thanks for the swift response. I was worried I might have damaged something.
Eggon - I now have egg on my face. You are clearly correct. Forget my previous post and let the open continue to enjoy.

If they were shorting out, you'd soon know it.
