How much to spend on speaker stands?....

Hi all, I have a pair of EMES Pink TV active monitors (at the moment just standing on shelves) as part of a studio set-up (using an RME HDSPe soundcard). How much should I spend on speaker stands to compliment the relative cost of the speakers (about £800 when bought originally), and how much of a difference should I notice in sound quality?
