Forget it, so long as you use

Forget it, so long as you use good quality speaker cables (Which you are already using), then a more expensive cable will have NO influence on sound quality, (No matter what the so called golden eared experts say) so save your money.

Hope this helps

RE: How much should I spend on new speaker cables.

For my taste, silver-plated cable + Pioneer + Kef IQ would be a bit bright and forward.....but if you enjoy the way it sounds, then leave well alone; if not, get some good, cheap copper cable (Linn K20, Van Damme, Chord Silver Screen, Atlas, 79 strand etc)

If you listen to a lot of music, it may be worth experimenting with something better (by borrowing it from a dealer). Despite what the previous poster has said, I would say that this is something that you need to try out for yourself. The rears are fine with cheaper stuff, so you can experiment with the front three.

I  currently use Van Damme UP-LCOFC here, I have a LX85 with Apex speakers and do not find this combination at all bright.

Going from WHF reviews then the Audioquest Flip or whatever it is sounds like it will be the perfect match for Pioneer receivers.

Not heard it but I would certainly give it a go at its price. The Van Dammes pretty good as well heard that on an LX83 and Apex combo.

RE: How much should I spend on new speaker cabl

If you want to spend a few more quid  but get a product that you likely will never want upgrade - not many of them exist.

Graham Slee Spatia Speaker Cable is stunning stuff !!

Check out the post where I have receommended it to another forum user.

This is what he wrote tonight

"Thanks got the Spatia back in - now this Is a loan cable I have not purchased it so I have no reason to praise it but sweet holy Jesus my system sounds just fantastic at this moment in time with the Spatia!

listening to judie tzuke on vinyl - she sounds like she is my lounge !!! "

For my review search down a page or so - combined with the Cusat Interconnect analogue or digital its a awesome combo - that I doubt you will beat for the money.  I doubt you wil find cables to touch it for the money.

I used it briefly on my LX83 just as I was upgrading to my Meridian.  Had I had that speaker cable in situ I am not sure I would have upgraded, I think I would have been happy... says a lot !!!
