Now if we wanna talk base traps ........
I have had to do large amounts of copying from device a to b using usb and check the md5 hashes and they were the same using different cables. So from a data point of view, there's no difference that I have found between usb cables.
Without wanting to get involved in your discussion, I would point out that copying files using a computer through USB to another device (e.g. a hard disk) is a completely different process to that used when USB is used to transport music from a device (even a computer) to a DAC. The main one being bullet proof error correction is applied to the first process to ensure data is exactly the same when copied - this can be done because data can be sent in any order and re-sent if necessary because there is no time limit to getting a file on to a USB drive. Streaming music on the other hand requires data sent in a certain order and, if it's corrupt / wrong, the music can't just be paused while the data is resent. Thus two completely different transport methods are used for each.
Food critics have opinions but reviews are presented as 'facts'.
A couple of months ago Computer Shopper did an exhaustive test on HDMI cables and found that they do the same job every single time, be they a couple of quid or significantly more. Don't think I have ever seen an advert in that mag for 'cables'.
To be fair, and I know someone will have an example to prove me wrong, GENERALLY cable manufacturers rarely claim better sound or picture they talk about better manufacture with better and more robust materials. Still no need to make certain claims when other people will claim it on your behalf.
Digital cables are levelling the playing-field, also expense-field, and any magazine or any other peddler of digital cable difference should be willing to undergo independant scrutiny and double-blind testing to establish their abilities. Will NEVER happen though.
I am a cable believer but never heard or seen a difference in a digital cable sound or vision performance.
Apple Lossless - ATV3 - AVI ADM 40 also ATV3 into AVI ADM 9T [my wife's system]

Couple months ago i did very simple test of two 15m hdmi cables.
One was very cheap, second middle price. I used two SONY TV (HD ready, nothing special)
one source (sony DVD) to do it.
Picture on cheap HDMI had a lower saturation of colors, specially red.
Why? I don't know. Maybe because of cable lenght.
I also heard that some cheap hdmi cables doesnt works with 3D signal but didn't check it.
I specially didn't mention cable brands, to not make commercial.
Seems like everybodys got a price, I wonder how they sleep at night. When the sale comes first, And the truth comes second, Just stop, for a minute andSmile
"watching showed contrast up, and tones as vivid and day-glo, plus there were issues with motion handling and noise.
The sound, too, was hard and thin with a lack of dynamics, punch or subtlety."
What utter rubbish WHF!
Don't you realise that printing this sort of thing is damaging your credibility?
PC > AVI Neutron Five 2.1
Sony NWZ-A847 64GB Walkman > Westone UM3x
Again, Steve? How many times will this be?
I am afraid that it is utter rubbish. A cheap digital cable won't be any worse or better than an expensive one, they are all the same.
Don't be afraid.
Get a life and more importantly get some help, max!
