Do HDMI cables have to be the same make when 2 are used in a chain for best results?

I am getting a blu-ray player but all the ports on my TV are in use. So I am getting a switch to add more HDMI ports. I am wandering one thing though would it be nessesary for the cable going from the switch to my blu-Ray player to be the same as the one going from the TV to the switch for best performance as the cable I am looking at is a different make and the new standard as the one that will go from my TV to the switch is the previous standard and a diferent make.
Any help on this would be appreciated.

No, they don't have to be of the same make.
