DIY phono cable
I need to make rca phono leads 5m long but apart from Maplins i cant find a good source of cable. I would prefer it screened with some decent insulation polyethylene dialctric.
Anyone know of a supplier who does it of the reel?
There was a discussion last year about Van Damme but i find their website unclear.
Thanks. Great selection, especially the Audionote stuff but very expensive for the lenght of run i need.
have you looked at CPC? Clicky
they have a range of cables including the Van Damme I've linked to
Thanks
How is the project going? Did you find any decent cable?
I used Canford for all the bits when making my cable. This link: http://www.canford.co.uk/Browse/4554 shows their starquad products. Any 4 core Mogami, Belden or Canare is good. I personally used the Canare L-4E6S for making my phono interconnects and re-cabling my headphones.
Edit: In fact this screened 2 core cable looks pretty interesting http://www.canford.co.uk/Products/20479/60-46349_BELDEN-46349-CABLE-Black
Are you any where near London. If so I can put you in touch with a firm that will make the leads to you speck for a very reasonable price.
