Petroleum works well, but be sure to burn off the excess, in your front room, with them connected to the TV.

Works wonders Wink

Maybe you disturbed the connection. Unplug and replug at both ends.

Oi, chuckle brothers, if you've got nothing of interest to say regarding the question keep the pie hole shut. The picture isn't as sharp, smart a**.

I noticed the difference and then the wife commented on it so I know it wasn't just my eyes.

Well........you must of been expecting some sarcastic comments surely.

On a serious note though you could have moved the routing of the cable is it near any RF cables ? Just try moving it about with the tellie on to see if it makes a difference.

I was being serious.

Some HDMI connections can be quite loose and it is worth checking (after moving the gear, cleaning etc.) that both ends are secure.

If no improvement then try a spare cable (you list your HDMI cables in the plural in your signature). If no change then move the cable to a different HDMI input.

Lovely.

But if the problem is you dusted the connectors then the PQ got worse, why are you asking about cleaning? Surely you want a good method of getting the dust back on the connectors?

RE: Cleaning interconnects ???

Personally this works for me every time and enables a fairly regular programme of cleaning, hope does for you too:

1. Carefully disconnect I/C and lay out in front of you on your lap or desk

2. Read thread on active speakers or digital I/Cs

3. You need a bit of patience but not very long before sufficient negative pressure is generated

4. Exhale DEEEEEEPLY ensuring even coverage over both ends of the cable

5. Reconnect I/Cs

excellent!
