Bluetooth Noob question: please help

Hi all I think this question has been asked before and pretty silly...but what i want to know is whether the quality of music played through a bluetooth audio receiver as good as when plugging the speakers directly into a laptop? My laptop has bluetooth 2.1 EDR ... I  want to plug in normal speakers into a bluetooth receiver and stream the music from the laptop. Is it possible to get uncompromising sound quality?
