When will all text functions work with Safari / Google Chrome?

Hey techie-types at WHF? (I guess that means you, John!)
The functions such as 'add a link/picture/emoticon' don't work with the browsers mentioned. Will they ever?

Well we have a date in mind, but, this being software development, there's no way I'm going to commit to it in print

Not sure on that one: I know a change of software is in the offing, but as yet I'm not up to speed with the browser testing
