RE: What's happened to the site?

I was just writing about how I liked the new font and general, more modern look and feel when it logged me out and kept saying I wasn't authorized, but it's let me back now excellent! .

It also seems faster - is this update the reason it has all run so very slowly recently?

Is this just a cosmetic change or have the bugs been fixed?

Edit - still buggy, just shinier....

Old folk don't like change, so grump about it for a while......which will make you feel better, as well as filling in the time until you get used to it!  shifty

and is there a reason there are two pale grey bars down either side of the screen?  it wastes approx 30% of the screen on nothing.

*EDIT* that's my fault, I'd made the text smaller which shrunk the page!!!

Isn't that where the adverts would go? They seem to have disappeared!

Like the new site - good one WHF team.  Seemed to be a few little glitches initially, possibly style-sheet related but looking good right now.

Was gobsmacked that it was updated in the middle of the day tho, with no apparent warning.

Got another of those massive annoying adverts just now, but I'll save that for another thread... Smile

Congrats team.

The design is better, looks nice.  But didn't there used to be a 'latest posts' button at the top of forum posts?

EDIT - though my avatar seems to have been replaced by one from two years ago...

This is much better. It's dispensed with the monkey. Smile

RE: What's happened to the site?

Well it looks alright, but it's not loading fully, I have blank boxes across the top of the screen where the home, news, forum etc. tabs are.

Plus it just lost my first reply.

Plus, why has my old avatar reappeared??

Edit, Seems to load alright in IE and Firefox, but not Chrome.

We've worked hard to improve in-site search which was seriously broken on the old site. Other fixes will be part of an ongoing process.
