What Hi-Fi Team - What's up with the AVATAR?
What exactly is wrong with the Avatar? I have been unable to load any pictures, regardless of size. There was another thread on this some time ago with Andrew and Andy both promising to look into it, but there has been no feedback at all since then.
Please advice, thank you.
These were my attempt, amongst others - JPG File 2.05KB, JPG File 28.2KB, JPG File 1.59KB, GIF File 77.4KB, JPG File 468KB.
Each time an upload is done, the message says it's been done and to wait for about 10 minutes to take effect. Still nothing.
i asked this question too a couple of weeks ago, still having no luck, like you tried different file type's and sizes, but just doesn't work, was hoping with the site update yesterday, it may have been cured, but doesnt seem to have
Yes mate. The update did nothing for the Avatar however.
OK, we'll have to take another look at this, sorry for the frustration. It's a strange one this as it's not a universal problem, only seems to affect a few people. I'll look into it.
Could you tell us what size / format is preferred? I've tried a 79 x 79 BMP since that's what one of the working ones downloads as, but no luck.
And does the ten minute wait apply to forum settings as well as the main forum views, or should you be able to see the picture in forum settings straight away if it's worked?
tried these:
BMP
JPG
and PNG
none of them worked
Let's hope Andy gets back to us with a solution.
can't upload my avatar either , otherwise exelent site though.
Where are you Andy?
He's currently trying to find a way to stop the site throwing error messages all over the place, as noted in another thread.
The avatar issue is sort of the least of his problems ATM!
Right - thank you for the update, Andrew. Whatever happened to the men with pens in their front pockets?
They're having the Clough whip cracked over them as we speak.

Most people seem to be able to upload their Avatars OK, but we are having a few stability problems with the site this afternoon, so please bear with us. What format/size are you trying to upload the picture in?
