Queries on postings
Hi WHF,
1. Why does the website keep asking me to complete word verification each time I submit a post even its in the same logged in session?
2. I thought we are now allowed to put links to other forums? I just submitted a post last night and it say it is in the queue for editor's verification.
The forever helpful Andrew... Thanks for the prompt clarification.
Sorry to hijack a pre-existing thread.
Since about 14:00 today I have not been able to post new topics in any forum.
Instead I see...
"You are not allowed to post new content in the forum"
Also - as you can see above - paragraphing is disabled.
Can a mod/staff member check to see if my settings have been changed? Thanks. (I can't help but notice that all recent posts from others have paragraphing disabled too.) Maybe this is connected.

That seems OK, but have just tested posting with a user account, and you're right about the 'not allowed to post' message – we're investigating...

Yes, can see what you mean – formatting is there but not working when you post, although self-evidently there when I quote you. Odd...
The men with toolkits are now tinkering under the bonnet...

I'm having the same problem. I've also got these messages which weren't there earlier.
- Web page addresses and e-mail addresses turn into links automatically.
- Allowed HTML tags: <a> <em> <strong> <cite> <code> <ul> <ol> <li> <dl> <dt> <dd> <img>
- Lines and paragraphs break automatically.
- You may quote other posts using [quote] tags.
- Filtered words will be replaced with the filtered version of the word.
- Textual smileys will be replaced with graphical ones.
OK, inability to post is now sorted, people with pens in top pockets now looking at formatting situation. Apologies.
Any idea what happened?
I'm told the technical explanation is that it was an EDITED-up.
Ah, good to see my legacy lives on.
Testing paragraphing.

Rats!

It's an anti-spam measure – should be sorted now
Site linked to was a hi-fi sales site, hence the apprval queue. Now posted minus link – please feel free to post your review on that thread rather than linking to it.
