Any ideas if this is possible on an iPad too? I have to disable the Rich Text - no biggie, but would be nice to easily use italics and bold.

AFAIK you have to stick to switching off rich text on the iPad, though I have to admit I haven't yet had time to run tests with all the various browsers I've downloaded. Will get round to it, promise...

RE: About the new site

Because the new forum is Safari friendly, letting me post images, links and emoticons, I don't use IE at all anymore.

I think that's the best thing about the switchover, so far. Well done JD and his minions!

I have problem with my signature. My old, pre change signature has disappeared; when I enter a new signature and press save it disappears as well. Any advice greatfully received.

Cheers

Is the one I see here – Cyrus CDXTse, DAB8.0, 8XPdQX, 2 x 8Power, 2 x PSX-R, Wilmslow Pheonix,Chord Carnival Superscreen Bi-wire.Cyrus and Atlas interconnects. - the right one?

We did have a problem requiring people to enter new signatures when we revamped the site: if you can't get it to work, email it to me at the usual address and I'll endeavour to upload it from this end.

 Hi

Okay, i can't see Laserman's or the 6th's latest posts, also had problems seeing one of Andrew's earlier.  I'm on Internet Explorer 8 now, with the compability mode thing enabled.  Should this be happening?, or do i need to download some more?

Cheers

RE: About the new site

Can I suggest that you folks having problems with IE consider giving Safari a whirl? IME, it's faster than Firefox and IE. And Safari has 'Reader', which allows you to view a website's text and relevant pics without those annoying flashing/expanding ads.

And Safari seems to work a treat with the new whathifi.com Smile

Free Safari download:

RE: About the new site

I've been following this thread (and others) and as a result decided to move from IE8 to FF4 as my default browser. Wow, am I a happy bunny !! Everything seems to work so well, so quickly - I can easily see with my own eyes why it's so popular.

I can only use IE6 at work. Soon as I try to log in it freezes. I assume IE6 is no longer supported?

You're right, we no longer support IE6, it accounts for about 2% of our traffic so isn't "worth" the effort.

However it shouldn't freeze, I'll try and remember to get some coal on the way into work and fire up the old machine that uses it and see what we can do...

Considering that Microsoft themselves are trying to kill IE6 usage http://ie6countdown.com/ I would ask your company to allow an upgrade, (or at least install a secondary browser). You will find large parts of the internet not working and it will only get worse for you.
