Gosh! It's S-O S-L-O-W. . . . .
Is anyone experiencing a languid PC response on the forum?
Taking ages, my hair has grown six inches since my last post. . . .
Yes, I'm experiencing that, too. It's been like that on and off during the day, too. I thought it might be my connection - and it could be, but maybe there's something else going on...

Will alert Webfuhrer Clough, and we'll look into it in the morning
Webfuhrer Clough here. Yes, the site did seem to slow to a crawl earlier this evening as I was posting the latest Sony PSP Go news.
But it's not just us. We relaunched another of our sites, whatcar.com, today and that was even slower when I checked it out earlier. So I'm wondering if the all-singing, all-dancing new whatcar site is stretching our servers to the limit.
Will investigate tomorrow. But the site does seem to be working faster now, if that's any consolation.
Y'see? Mention his name, and he appears. Spooky, really...
Seems okay now. . . .Ta! guys.
I also experienced the same problem from about 1845 till 2345, to the point I could get no response at all. Then suddenly all was well.
It would appear to be load-related, I was getting long pauses for most of yesterday, at work and at home. Click a link, page goes blank, browser says "Waiting for community.whathifi.com" for anything up to a minute and then the page loads (very quickly once it does start), so some kind of response problem.
So far this morning, when I expect there are far fewer people on the servers, I haven't seen it once.

ANDYCLOUGHANDYCLOUGHANDYCLOUGH!!
Hmmm, nope, nothing...
You've scared him off now...
Andrew Everard:You've scared him off now...
Oh no, not that easily. I'm back!
The webkraken awakes...
Andy Clough:So I'm wondering if the all-singing, all-dancing new whatcar site is stretching our servers to the limit.
Your forum search is a bit knackered right now.
Otherwise all fine here (not slow yesterday either).
[Edit] OK it has un-knackered itself.
plastic penguin:my hair has grown six inches since my last post. . . .
I would that I could say the same.

Nope, seems fine here...
