Can we please have a hyper link button?

Hi

What are the chances of enabling the hyperlink button in TinyMCE? Those of use who know HTML can contruct links this way and those who don't just paste them as text so people have to copy and paste into browsers... it would save so much to be able to enter a URL like one can for an externally hosted image.

type your text, select and use the chain button?  the only thing i would change is the open in same window to open in new window as a default.

Yup, if you have the rich text editor you cam use the chain button - select the text you want to turn into a link and the chain becomes un-greyed. If you have the rich text turned off (can't check right now) you can put (limited) HTML in to your heart's content.

Amazing how when your brain tells you something's not there your eyes don't see it!

Ah, is that what the OP meant? I checked which editor he was on, and assumed he meant something infinitely more complex...
