I dont know when the forum started, but are there any original members still here?
It must have been exciting at the begining. Would the forum take off, how many members would you get, when would the first cable debate start?!
Ho, ho JD! Still plenty of the original members around as we head for 50,000 in total (48,549 and counting).
So when did it all start and who are those 'originals' along with JD?

It was Octopo who guided me on how to set up a PC based/DAC system. Hopefully I am now doing the same for others.

I'm not an original. Jan 2008 here...
We actually had forums way, way before 2007, on previous versions of the site, as you can see from this archived page from June 1998. But the current version does indeed date from May 2007...

Just looking through the stats and seeing some familiar names that all signed up in the first six months:
Gerrardasnails joined in the first month of the new Forums being live (june 2007), followed by Thaiman (July 2007), JoelSim, Igglebert, Matengawhat and al7478 (August), the record spot (October), Matthewpiano (November), ProfessorHat (December).
And that's just from the top 20 posters list - remember, lots of people visit the site, but not everyone posts as frequently!

It was the V1's and V2's that really caused the original problems.

As a matter of interest Mods- since I liked his take on life- was his profile deletion self imposed (if the data protection act allows) because his departure was rather sudden and unannounced.
Sadly, I have had many parts replaced...
