Why is this so important to people? It doesn't make the slightest bit of difference! It doesn't make anyone more important than anyone else.
Because it costs money...
Skint? no. Money to burn? no.
No signature worth mentioning...
Have to admit I only checked back on mine because others were complaining...

I would never have known what my post count was, don't think I've ever looked at it.
Still can't work out why it costs money though...
Yeah I don't get that either.
How does a reduction in your post count cost money?
Marantz M-CR603 + AirPlay • Rega R3 loudspeakers • iPhone 5 32GB • iMac • Apple Airport Extreme 802.11n • Panasonic TX-L32D25B • Sony BDP-S390 • Ruark Audio R1 Deluxe • Humax HDR-Fox T2
I might get used to this, but I certainly feel the new forum is far far to messy, cluttered, not very nice

As we keep saying (and people seem to be overlooking), you're not going to have to get used to it - this is just the raw, beta phase of a new Forum, to which many fixes will be applied, ASAP.
Please keep the feedback coming, in the knowledge that we're considering all your comments.

It costs every time you go online, albeit 'cheap rate'. To lose over 200 posts is an awful lot of 'cheap rate' calls to have gone down the pan.

Your very first post is still there - from April 30th 2008 - and (probably) every post you have ever made.
I think all that has changed is the way the posts are counted.
Phew! For a moment there I thought pp had stumbled across details of our cunning, and still very top-secret, 'pay per post' plan...
Can't be "top secret" - surely you don't expect me succumbe to that old chestnut. Top secret stuff wouldn't be mentioned...
Strangely though, about a year ago - can't remember who's thread it was - Clare mentioned there could be a future plan for charging.
laptop...airport...marantz pm7001...dynaudio dm 2/7's...
Yup, that's what he said.
No. Of course. You're right. Thanks for bunging another florin in the meter to clear that one up.
My purse is a bit lite-weight...
