Next one in the pipeline, AFAIK, and given the Hi-Fi one was published on Thursday, I guess the Systems one will be about eight weeks away. End of March/beginning of April or thereabouts...

The Ultimate Guide to Systems 2009 will be published on 2nd April - just in time for a long read over the Easter period!

great thanks for that. clare can i be a nuisance and ask if my B&W 685 loudspeakers could do justice to say a cyrus cd6se and roksan kandy k2 amp?

It'd be a little bit of a stretch, but it'd work. The 685s are capable of delivering more than their price point suggests, as has often been the case with B&W 600-series speakers over the years. The other two components you're thinking of have plenty of room for growth (which I assume is why you're thinking about buying them). Longer term, a speaker upgrade would be a good idea, but as an intermediate step this'll be fine.
