After reading the DAC test in the September edition, which seems a very good test, the 'verdict' for the Rega it says: "Got the budget? Got the system? Hear the Rega".

Really trying to clarify what system (or brands) you wouldn't use the Rega with. Are you talking about entry-level Cambridge or Marantz, for example? Would the Rega, in your view, be an overkill?

Hello,

It's not really about brands. While the Rega doesn't make sense in a budget set-up (£300 or below per component), give it something more capable to work with and it'll shine. As long as the system is transparent enough to make the most of the Rega's resolution and rhythmic capabilities the overall result will be good.
