Impending Awards issue excitement!
Just two days to go - and to show just how close to the wire these things go, we've only just had the Awards issues into the office. And a chunky monkey it is, too...
Copies of the mag should be winging their way to subscribers and retailers right now, all ready for Thursday.
Schedules permitting (we're already well into the December issue - including exciting news of exclusive reviews of the new £350 Toshiba Ep35 HD DVD player and £400 Sharp Blu-ray player) we'll be here in force to discuss the winners from then.
I can't wait! ![]()
Any idea when it will show up in Australia?

Strewth - you haven't even got your 2006 one yet!
A member of our subscriptions team will be along shortly....
Hi there
I work in the subs dept. It should take around 2 weeks for your Awards issue copies to reach Australia - so expect it to reach you around Tuesday 30th October.
Thanks
Mark
Just got my copy, are we allowed to spill the beans on who won wot or not???
dont want to get my bottom spanked for it, well unless Clare is doing the spanking that is LOL![]()
Tried to get a copy in Tesco's today. "It's not out today" "Erm, yes it is, it says so inside this one." "Tomorrow then."
Do I look like I want it tomorrow?
Useless.
Well, I managed to pick one up in Sainsbury's at 9am this morning!

Steady.... ![]()
Quite happy for everyone to discuss the winners here.
Do subscribers get this sent automatically or do we have to go to the shops and pay for it?
Nope. it's included in your subscriptions package - 13 issues a year, what a bargain!
You should have had your copy this morning, though with the postal services as they are....
Sigh, I probably won't get my hands on this issue in my part of the world for at least another 3 weeks. In the meantime, does the pic of the Rega CD player on the cover indicate that the Apollo might have knocked off the Cyrus CD6s?
Also, would anybody be kind enough to share the winners of the Speaker Cable and Analogue Interconnects categories?
The suspense is killing me.
I'll put you out of your misery....
Yes, well-spotted re the cover: the latest Rega Apollo is indeed our CD player Product of the Year .
As for speaker cables - QED Silver Anniversary XT hangs on as best all-rounder for most budgets - while for stereo interconnects, the revamped Atlas Equator takes the best buy.
Haven't had mine yet. Bloomin' work shy postys!!!!
Clare, thanks for sharing those results. Quite an achievement for the Rega Apollo (at the expense of my poor CD6s), as it was also named Budget Component of the Year 2006 by USA's Stereophile Magazine.
Finally managed to pick up a copy in WHSmith's today. Glad that I've got some Kef 3005SE's on order!
