Re: Connecting Equipment

Run an HDMI cable from the Blu-Ray, into one of the Yamaha's HDMI inputs. This will carry both video and audio, and you'll need no further cables bar the mains cable.

Run a second HDMI cable from the Humax recorder into another of the the Yamaha's HDMI inputs. I don't know much about the Humax unit, but it should be the same as above connections-wise, (plus the satellite aerial connector of course).

Run another HDMI cable from the Yamaha's HDMI outputinto your TV.

If your TV is ARC capable (Audio Return Channel), the HDMI that runs from the Yamaha to the soundbar, will also send the TV's sound to the Yamaha, allowing you to listen to broadcast TV through the Yamaha too. If it does not support ARC, you'll need an audio connection cable (proabably optical digital) from the TV into the Yamaha.

Re: Connecting Equipment

If it's a new Panasonic 3D plasma, it will support ARC.

That's a result then Richard. 3 HDMI cables and you should be set.
