Now here's an expensive radio. Eton has teamed up with Porsche Design to provide a stylish, luxury DAB/FM radio complete with separate iPod dock. At least, that's the theory.

While, of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, we weren't convinced by this unit's looks.

The OLED display is pretty smart, while the weighty remote control has a classy feel and not only does its job but, bizarrely, doubles as a torch.

Back to the job in hand and the three full-range speakers and subwoofer just don't deliver the goods sonically.

Whether listening to the iPod or the radio, tunes have an edge that becomes uncomfortable at loud volumes, while the midrange lacks refinement.

Despite a muscular presentation, decent bass control and efficient timing, for £480 we're not convinced.
