Tried to watch this last night, but fell asleep. From what I did manage to see, it looks like there is some kind of investigation into something that happened in series 3 going on.

Would it be a good idea to watch the 3 previous series first do you think?

Plot-wise, it's arguably not 100% vital, but for understanding the characters' back-stories and, in turn, appreciating their depth, which is one of the writing's main strenghts, I'd definitely watch the previous 3 - all of which are excellent.

The 1-3 DVD boxset is £22 from Amazon or £20.99 from Sainsbury's (incl 40 Nectar points - huzzah!).

Wikipedia's overview is actually quite useful and its précis of each series is spoiler-free - apart from series 3's, which is riddled with spoilers - clickety.

At the cinema this afternoon. Quite slow paced, but moody, and interesting.

Enjoyed the very wonderful Jo Nesbø-penned Headhunters, so, thought Nesbø's Jackpot would also be good. Umm, no.

Coen bros-style black humour + Tarantino gunplay + Guy Ritchie-esque time-shifts = a right ol' potboiler.

And casting a shamless David Brent impersonator - replete with beard and 80s-style barnet - doesn't help the cause, either.

blood

Not the worst film that I've seen, but was challenging in the "stay awake, this won an Oscar" stakes.

The soundtrack of the film had a big impact on the overall tone of the film - without it this would have just made the "Extremely Dull" category.

With the soundtrack, it edged its way into the "Dull and Too Long" list.

Worth watching so that you can have an opinion...otherwise will not make you friends with the rest of the family. They endured it.

I saw Wreck it Ralph with my two nieces.   Smile  Yep, interesting, definitely better than Ice Age 4 (the other one I saw recently), although 3D was not very good.
