A disappointing debut from The Script

The Script's self-titled debut album is very much what you'd expect from a band composed of two producers and some session musicians. It's technically polished but full of kitsch lyrics and trite sentiment. It's a deeply annoying record and a strong contender for worst album of the year.

The problem here isn't that the Script are essentially a boy-band, it's that they aim for a credibility they haven't earned and the result is a con, as fake and emotionally corrupt as pop music can possible be. You can hear our full review and samples of the album here.

What a load of tosh this review is. I would guess that judging by this album's position in the chart, there are a fair few people who would disagree with you.

I am one that would disagree, I really enjoyed this album!
