SHOW NEWS: TVonics offers a hand with the digital switchover
Launched at the What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision Show, this is the tiny MFR-200 Freeview receiver, one of several solutions being offered by British company TVonics for those about to lose their analogue TV service as the digital switchover rolls out across the UK.
The minute Freeview tuner will sell for £40, and with a view for use by those with older TVs, has an RF aerial output, enabling it to be inserted between the TV and the existing aerial. It's smaller than a credit card and only 3cm thick, yet it comes with a big, ergonomically-designed handset designed for complete ease of use.
Designed and built in the UK, the unit is available in versions with and without audio description services for the visually impaired, and has an eight-day electronic programme guide to help users plan their viewing.
