NEWS: Philips confirms details on 7600 Series

Philips has confirmed the Ambilight 7600 Series of LCD TVs will be released in June, with sets in 32, 37, 42 and 47in sizes.
The smallest set, the 32PFL7603D will retail at £799, the 37in will be £999, the 42in £1199 and the 47PFL7603D around £1499.
We reported from the Philips launch in Lisbon and we can now add some meat to those bare bones. The three largest TVs are Full HD 1080p resolutions, while the 32in is 1366 x 768.
Each of the four models will feature the Philips Pixel Plus 3HD Engine, as well as the seemingly 'love-it-or-hate-it' Philips HD Natural Motion technology.
Other technology on board includes the latest version of the Dynamic Contrast Enhancement system, which helps Philips claim a 30,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio – some four times higher than the previous generation.
As well as the picture, the sound has been given special treatment in the 42in and 47in versions thanks to the inclusion of the Philips wOOx subwoofer technology, which should naturally deliver a little more 'oomph'.
All four sets also have Ambilight technology on two sides, which thanks to a series of integrated LEDs project colours on to your wall behind the screen to match the images on TV.
Last but not least, all four sets have four HDMI 1.3a inputs – three on the rear and one on the side. As ever, look out for a review very soon...

Someone dropped the ball with this one, my local Currys have had the 7600 in for almost 2 weeks...
Must be Philips, then, Risky - the news story was posted within 30 mins of the press release appearing in our inbox.
Risky - this story is the first time Philips has confirmed full pricing/release details. We first reported on the 7000 series sets back in January, and again with more details in March.
But we realise not everyone trawls the news archive, and - as Andrew says - try to keep everyone up to date as soon as we have any new information from the manufacturers.
Have Philips stopped the full Ambilight (all four sides) TV's now then? Seems a bit strange if they have
I understand the all-round Ambilight is/will be covered under the Aurea range, which is due for expansion later this year, I believe.
Any news on the 9600 series? Particularly 32" 9603
I've tried posting on the TV forum but it seems unless it is a Pioneer/Sony/Panasonic question it seems invisible.
I like the Panny but want to weigh up the competition before I take he plunge.
Clare, do I remember you mentioning the next WHF edition will have 32" test? If so will the 7603 or 9603 be tested?
Still no screens from Philips for that test, sadly - though we have just had the latest Aurea in, which we'll be reviewing shortly.
Just ordeered this TV based on other reviews. Got the 42" for £902 delivered from Additions using a 10% discount code found on the web. Not bad for the price
