NEWS: Denon receivers - not one, but seven!

In addition to the AVR-4308DAB, which we previewed here, Denon is all set to launch no fewer than six more AV receivers in the next couple of months, with models starting from the £270 AVR-1508 (above). And sitting at the heart of the range is the AVR-2808, at £900, which packs decoders for Dolby True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio.

The AVR-2808 (below) also handles Deep Colour 30/36-bit, and has HDMI 1.3a inputs and outputs - two in, one out - with video upconversion and upscaling to 1080p, using Faroudja DCDi processing.

It delivers 7x110W, and uses new digital signal processing and the latest incarnation of Audyssey's Mult EQ XT auto calibration, with a redesigned microphone for greater accuracy.

More details, and of course tests, as the new models become available - the AVR-1508 and AVR-2808 will appear in the forthcoming What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision Ultimate Guide to Home Cinema, on sale September 6.
