NEWS: Bang & Olufsen boosts its BeoVision 8 to 32in
Having launched its 26in BeoVision 8 LCD TV last year, Bang & Olufsen is increasing the range with a 32in model, seen above behind the 26in. The BeoVision 8-32 uses the same technology as the earlier model, and is designed to give a high-quality picture - and good sound, too.
The new set combines progressive-scan processing with a high-glare surface, said to optimise quality when watching in daylight by giving deeper blacks and better colours. It's a 1366x768 panel, and the set has HDMI, component, composite and Scart inputs.
The speaker system under the screen has been designed, the company says, to give 'the illusion for the first time that the words a person on-screen is speaking are actually coming from their mouth. This is achieved through front loudspeakers which are precisely tuned for the reproduction of human speech. ?
?'Designer David Lewis explains: "We’ve moved the sound forward and up, like a proper stage with a real orchestra pit. This ensured the sound is truly in synch with the image, rather than a distraction from it."'
The speaker system also has a downward firing bass driver to add weight to this intelligibility and soundstaging.
The new TV can be used free-standing, hanging on a wall, or on a dedicated stand. It sells for £2450 without the stand, or £2700 with.?
