BRISTOL NEWS: KEF's £70k Muon speakers on demo at Sound and Vision
The company will be demonstrating the 2m tall speakers, of which only 100 pairs are being made, in Oslo rooms 1&2 at the show.
The company's Head of Project Acoustics, Dr Andrew Watson, will be on hand on the Friday and Saturday of the show, which is open from Friday 22nd February to Sunday 24th, to answer technical queries and give more in-depth information about the speakers.
The Muons have enclosures made from super-formed aluminium, and designed by Ross Lovegrove. They use a four-way driver configuration, using the company's Uni-Q driver and additional midrange and bass units, with two extra bass drivers in the rear of the 'cabinet.
The also use KEF's Acoustic Compliance Enhancement technology, found in the much smaller KHT series speakers: this uses activated carbon to adsorb air molecules within the enclosure, thus making the internal space appear even larger to the drive units.
