Can someone who has tested this model or has this model please confirm if the FM reception on it is rubbish? I have read that both the 1065 & 2065 has/had issues with this???

I purchased this receiver from Peter Tyson last week at the brilliant price of ???509, this must be seiously good value.
This is my first AV amp and I have found it to be easy to set up and operate. I think the What Hi-Fi review is fair but I am finding the speech clear and overall performance sounds great for me powering Monitor Audio Radius 270's / 225/ 90 plus RSW12. I am no expert but think its great.
I did have a small problem with 1080p pass through with a Panasonic DVD recorder but Yahama customer support quickly sorted it out over the telephone

Couldn't possibly comment! You'll have to wait for the Awards issue to find out...

Thanks for giving me the heads up Clare, I will look out for it. Can you say out of the Denon 2310, Yamaha 1065 and Marantz 6004 would you personally go for or would that not be ethical?
AndyWright October 7, 2009 18:36
Why can't that darn awards issue be out already?!!

waine7 - review of Marantz SR6004 coming up in Awards issue, when we'll also choose our favourite at this price...

Your right there, ???509 is the best so far I've seen. I don't know whether to go for this, the Denon 2310 or the Marantz 6004. Decisions, decisions.
AndyWright October 6, 2009 19:37
Seen this for way less £ online!! I'm sorely tempted!

Was there ever any doubt? :D
If you're working to a sub-£1000 budget, then you can't do better than look at this impressive arrival in the Denon AV stable
The VSX-LX52 is a very capable machine, but it falls a touch short in the performance-per-pound stakes
