I have been reading from various sources about this Amp and its matching cd player and would love an audition I am particularly drawn to its build and retro styling and have been keen to replace my old Musical Fidelity Electra 100 integrated and rotel 965 bx cd player i just took out of the garrage.
Having recently Purchased this behemoth of an amp, I have sat down and listened to a selection of music Cd's through my Roksan Kandy KA-1 cd player.
Having recently sold my Arcam FMJ A32 as it was lacking something (difficult to describe, but music seemed lifeless with the arcam). I have the audio upgrade bug, always in need to find better, as every amp I have owned so far has lacked that cutting edge.
I recognize that with all amps, play in time improves sonic performance...but from what I hear so far...this is the best looking, best built and best sounding amplifier I have ever owned. Rated 90watts, the A-S1000 has bags of power in reserve, I'm frightened to turn that vol dial beyond a third to risk waking the whole street up! Best money I have spent in a while.
So go give this amp an audition, I have no doubt that you will not be dissapointed. Next I will buy the matching CD player...so good looking and sonically impressive
