The Wilson Benesch Curves are handsome looking speakers that are exquisitly made; as you would rightly expect for the money. The finish is solid robust and they are reassuringly heavy. They come with their own tool kit and quality jumper-leads in some serious packaging. However inspite of all this the Curves don't have their own sound, you only hear the music. Old 1950's recordings come alive with vitality and atmospheric ambience (Eddie Cochran C'mon Everybody) , modern compressed-for-radio recordings can sound, well unexciting - unless the volume is turned skywards. Well recorded music sounds fantastic and free with enormous levels of detail, wide-open sound-stage and holographic imaging.Intimate singer-songwriters (like Joni Mitchell's A Case of You) sound as if they are there with you. Wall of sound merchants pummel you (Nine Inch Nails). Dub reggae sees another side of these speakers altogether with seismic bass that will punched you in the guts with its weight and solidity. In short when I bought these speakers I got a class act that does the most important thing of all supremely well - they make you listen to the music and forget about what box it's coming from.
