Cheap and nasty – you can do much better

Surprisingly, this DAB/FM clock radio from Tesco house-brand Technika manages to feel and look overpriced. The display only tells the time when the DAB107 is on standby, and to go with the thin, brittle feel, the Technika serves up a thin, brittle sound. By the way, this is a pretty light and insubstantial mains-powered unit, despite the Tesco website suggesting it weighs 39.08kg!

Talk radio is generally listenable, but music is is delivered with no bass at all, the frequencies restricted to the upper midrange and the top end as if there are wasps trapped inside and they’ve formed a band.

You can do better – even for this little money.
