After a huge struggle, I found a retailer in the Northamptonshire area who contacted Tannoy and obtained a pair of speakers to demonstrate. These speakers were top of the list because they have a light oak option and came out well in reviews. My apology to the dealer. He offered me these speakers for about 1350. I bought them on the web for 699. Which would you choose? This is suicidal marketing by Tannoy as who is going to demonstrate these speakers in the future. Am I reviewing 700 speakers or 1350 speakers? I have a Cyrus Cd8 SE source and Cyrus 8VS amp. The What Hifi review is correct. It takes a long time to run these speakers in. I like them. The bass is very extended yet controlled and reveals a great deal more at the low end than my previous Ruark prelude R speakers. Vocals are simply awesome. Perhaps the upper bass and lower mid range is a little subdued but this is a very minor criticism. These speakers are a pleasure to listen with fine detail, suitable for all types of music and good for parties too. Are these 700 speakers or 1350 speakers? At 700 they blow away all competition I have ever heard. At 1350 they will still hold their own against the competion but at this level there are some very good alternatives. I will give them 5 stars and more if I could at the lower price. At the higher price you need to listen to the competition. I would still choose them but it is a matter of personal listening preference. They are still good value for money. They are very well made, are good to look at and do not spoil the living room. A feature which pleases the wife
