Very decent for sound and vision, without being spectacular at either

I've had this sytem for approx. 6 months, in fact this is my second one as I had to return the original because of a faulty radio.  I've not heard either the Denon M37DAB or he Okyno so can't compare, but the Teac does give a nice deep clear sound.  However you have to be prepared to play with the presets to get it right. I've attached a set of Cambridge Audio S30 speakers, originally I thought the sound was a bit flat but with the addition of a sub woofer, it gives an all-round quality to the sound and the sub woofer can go slightly deeper than the S30s. However the S30s are great for the mid and top range. I've got my Virgin Media box connected to the input sockets so even watching films on TV or on the included DVD player give a surround sound type effect, although obviously not 5.1.

I'm using a 10 year plus Sony Trinitron Widescreen TV via the Scart plug so the DVD player is fine although not as advanced in its features as my previous Sony DVD player. So obviously I'm not using the HDMI but will wait until there are more HDTV channels available until buying a flat screen. By then I'll probably look at buying a Blue Ray player anyway.

So overall if you want a reasonably good sound system and don't have much room, I would recommend it. I should just point out that by the time I bought the speakers, the cables and an additional arial to replace the useless one provided, I'd spent about £650, so also bear this in mind.
