These beautifully engineered Sonys are front-firing, so the signal comes at you from the front rather than the sides, as you might have guessed.

Does it work? Well, yes. Some may find the short cord and tricky fit awkward, but the PFR-V1s produce a delicate and detailed sound that's light on bass, but has a clear treble and rich midrange.
