Shure SRH240

Decent cans, but not up to the high standards we’ve come to expect from Shure

- Lack refinement, cheap feel
We're familiar with Shure's in-ear headphones, but the company's on-ear cans are a new proposition.
The SRH240s look reasonable but feel cheaper than their price would suggest. Pleasingly, the earpads and headband feel comfortable during prolonged listening.
The SRH240s produce a clear sound, and are fairly detailed. But they don't sound as refined as class-leading cans at this price.
Listen to T.I.'s Dead and Gone and you can hear slight edginess in the upper midrange, while there's also a lack of bass analysis.
