Roberts iDream
We have tested radios from Roberts that span the price and feature spectrum, from complete micro systems and luxury DAB/FM portables, to this, the iDream, a budget, function-heavy option.
We have to say the unit is fairly uninspiring when first lifted out of the box, and things don't get much better when we get our hands on it.
The buttons are clunky and feel quite cheap; more worryingly, our sample's buttons were rather unresponsive.
Still, the iPod dock, auxiliary input, DAB/FM tuners and alarm functions mean this has plenty of features going for it.
To be frank, it's lucky it does, for the iDream sounds thoroughly underwhelming. Lightweight, thin and bright, while we'd be happy to cut this Roberts some slack, for £80 we think that with the iDream it has tried to squeeze too much in and sacrificed performance.
