However much we bang on about the difference upgrading your ‘kettle lead' mains cables can make, there are still some sceptics out there.

We wish you could see and hear the performance boost for yourselves – and now you can from just £40, thanks to QED's latest budget belter.

It's not flawless – Merlin's Tarantula (from £50) gives you a little more authority and a shade extra edge. Still, at the price, this is a worthy wire, and an effective upgrade for both video and audio kit.
