Stunning. Pioneer's biggest TV is a fabulous performer, every bit as adept as its Award-winning 50-inch sibling

Living with a Kuro 6090.

Like all things in life there are up sides and down sides, I'm sure waking up with  Scarlett Johansson would be great but taking her shopping probably not so, all things considered though I'd probably spend a fair amount having my teeth whitened with all the smiling I'd be doing. Which brings me to the Kuro 6090. The Kuro is NOT perfect however it is phenominal to behold and nothing else compares, you must learn how to keep it and how to live with it, learn from my mistakes and save yourself a headache.

1st, never use glass cleaner on the screen, it'll leave smears/smudges and take at least 30mins to get off, just use a dry microfibre cloth and it'll come up a treat.

2nd, the beautiful gloss black frame if you have to touch it, again carry a microfibre cloth, every touch will show up as a mark, when minute scratches start to appear (and they will) get rid of them with a mild cutting agent and again polish up with a microfibre cloth.

3rd, it's a huge shiny screen that will reflect light, check the wall your placing it on dosen't have over exposure to sunlight ie. if the sun sets across the back of your house don't place the TV on a wall facing the rear windows/doors, it will cause excessive glare and be difficult to view.

4th, The TV does use 550 watts (approx) when in use, it does get very hot, if you are looking to encase it ensure you spend time and a bit of cash on adequete ventilation. Mine is enclosed and I've used the USB port to power PC fans in the cabinet, works a treat. On the plus side you'll probably be able to lose a radiator in your living room after installing the TV with the amount of heat it gives off.

Lastly, don't listen to anyone who tells you the TV is too big or too expensive (basically everyone) Once you've got it up and running even the most conservative of people will be pining for one, the picture is truely phenominal and the upscaler is a true work of electronic genius. Like I said in the beginning just because the Scarlette Johansson's of this world may cost a bit more to live with and take a little more maintainance than others you wouldn't wake up in the morning looking for an alternate or regret spending your time and money. If you can find a second hand or ex-diplay KURO 6090 out there, BUY IT, hook it up and bask in it's glory, you won't regret it.

Nice bit of sexist assumption in there...

Didn't mean to offend your sensibilities but I'm sure people understand what I'm getting at.

Yes I am sure they understand you completely.

You'll probably get more response if you post your question in the forums...

Gorgeous TV

Fantastic Picutures and Sound.

Seriously Big, Lets hope you have room.

bought the kuro 5080 last year and thought that was good , the 6090 is noticeably better in all respects, especially hd and blue ray, watch something like the movie 300 and was just totaly blown away, well worth the money, blows all the competition away, shame they are not going to make a ultimate black next year...boooo

I am looking for a state of the art set 50+ inches.

I have to say it seems to me that older models are in fact better than any newer models, no TV manufacturer, are investing like they use to in making state of the art sets i.e RGB backlight systems,in the market place.

I am after a comparison with three models                     in-particular, all different sizes the quality of set being the premise for me.

Sony KDL55X4500

Pioneer PDP-LX6090

Sharp LC52XS1E

I want to define what is the best TV for me to purchase 50Inches +. Subsequently if I have missed out a better newer model i.e Samsung LED etc please please let me know.

(not that keen on 1st version 3D TVS)

Thanks

Bring back the Kuro..........
