Which is better: a remote with two setup methods that don't work very well, or one with a single setup that's quick and intuitive?
We reckon it's the latter, which is why the Philips scores well. Its beautiful, large touchscreen guides you through the setup process from start to finish, and although there's some trial and error involved in finding the right signals for your kit, it's not overt, with no mention of codes.
It doesn't automatically add activities, but the macro system remains relatively painless, and the whole user experience is improved by the ultra-stylish, premium look and feel of the unit
