I haven't got the exact settings we used for the test, but I'd advise turning off most of the picture processing/noise reduction modes to see if that helps.
Tell me about it! I've been waiting ages for one from sound&vision (bolton) and have phoned them a few times. They say that Philips keep making them promises of deliveries, then letting them down. Maybe that's true and this Barca showcase has had something to do with it and now Philips can concentrate on getting back to business.(here's hoping)
There have been a few reviews lately, raving about the 37PFL9604 and I would really like to get my hands on one, but does anyone know why this particular model, despite my endless searching, does not seem to be stocked by any retailer or is likely to be in the near future? It is mighty frustrating having seen this TV given 'best buy' awards but then not being able to actually buy it!!
Just spoke to Philips as I was very interested in this model. They are no longer producing the 37pfl9604 due to earthquake damage at the factory that produced some of the core components. Moving production was not deemed cost effective.
Good luck finding somewhere that still has old stock.
end of 2009, i did some research on 37inch TV's, and after about 2 months decided on this model. i had the same problem, could not get it anywhere. in the end placed an order at ASK in January. While i waited for this to become availble again from philips, they gave me a LG lh5500 loaner tv. this was not to bad i thought , but then, this weekend i got a call, and my TV has Arrived at ASK. they delivered it on Saturday, and boy oh boy. What a TV. the difference in picture and sound is astonishing. i never thought it would be this good. picture is perfect, and sound equally good. rich and clear. it takes a small bit longer to get perfect, but not that long. I just what to say thanx to the Guys at ASK for pulling out all the stops to get this TV to me. 3 month wait was absolutely worth it.
Just received my 37PFL9604 and it looks and sounds fantastic as described. I am, however, struggling to get the picture quality described by Dedex in his review.
Is it possible to list picture settings used? I have Sky+ HD as well as an LG BD390 Bluray on order. I'm also using a Vivanco Sound and Image HDMI cable.
